Johnno

Post by TheMightyQuinn on Wed Aug 13, 2008 3:40 pm

Apparently turned down a new contract.

Rumours abound about him going out a lot plus an alleged gambling problem etc.

A lot of people seem to think we should get rid but in my opinion if Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested I'd trust their judgement on the lad over some mental blues who seem to think the fact that Johnno likes to go out of a night is the worst crime in the world.

Personally I hope he stays as I think that if Hughes can get his head sorted he can only go on to be a better player.

i would like him too stay as he is a good player but i don't think we should pay him over the odds to keep him.

if he stays good, if he goes ... meh, cant remember much he did well recently. his best was early on last season when he and elano developed an understanding. To be brutally honest he doesnt excite me that much as a player, and as good as i would like him to become I dont think i can be arsed waiting to see if he becomes as good as he is meant to be.

I kinda agree with you mate but the fact that Arse and Liverpool are sniffing about makes me suspicious, I mean their scouts must know a thing or two.

fuck off with gossip Evil or Very Mad , there is plenty to talk about without resorting to the mirror/sun/star type of bollocks. Lets stick to facts gang. Thtas where the site that shall not be mentioned falls down so often.

I put Johnno's form upon his return to the team last season as the after effects of his injury.

But he disappointed me in the UEFA leg and he looked as if he was on another planet against AC Milan. He just doesnt seem to have the enthusiasm that you would expect when, realistically, he should be making an extra effort to impress the new manager.

Point taken but to be fair the Johnno thing is a little more than just gossip, you wont be seeing any 'I've just seen SWP outside coms' or 'My mates dad brothers mate says Anelka has just signed' kind of shite from moi Very Happy

Maybe this should be tied in with my "Agents" thread tbh, in that if a young player has aware of interest from other clubs then perhaps they think they have already done enough to impress said clubs though?

It seems to be a disease amongst some young players in that "I'm there now, the world is my oyster..."

Unless hes being asked to paly a different role than he was under Sven.

Theres a number of reasons MJ might not 'look' as good as he did at times last season.

But his SkySportsNews picture does make him look like he's at the early stages of a Liam Gallagheresque Booze and Attitude transplant.
