Kasper Schmeichel has accused Sven Goran Eriksson of duping him into signing a new contract at Manchester City after admitting he is desperate to quit.
Shot-stopper Schmeichel, son of legendary keeper Peter, has not played for City since last September following Joe Hart's emergence.
The Dane, 21, wants first team football to continue his impressive progress after breaking into City's team at the start of last term when he kept four clean sheets in seven games.
But he fears ex-England boss Eriksson, sacked in June after one season managing City, only picked him to ensure he penned a four-year deal - and is very frustrated.
"I want to leave City - no question," insisted Schmeichel, whose dad spent a year at the club in 2002/2003.
"It is heartbreaking every time you don't play and one year sitting on the bench would not be good for my development.
"I have been trying to leave for a while because last season, the week after I signed a contract, I was told I wasn't playing.
"Sven was telling me he wanted me to play and let me develop and every day he was asking me about my contract situation.
"But as soon as I signed the contract, when I got to the hotel before playing Newcastle away in September, I was told I wasn't playing.
"At the time I was playing and I had a good offer of a good contract but it might have been a mistake to sign for the four years."
City let Schmeichel go on loan to Cardiff last October and Coventry in March as he helped keep the Sky Blues in the Championship.
But he is annoyed City then ignored THREE bids for him from the Sky Blues.
And he is now hoping Eriksson's successor, Mark Hughes, signs a new keeper to compete with Hart so they let him leave.
"I've been told there is no chance of me leaving but I want to play first-team football," he added.

Re: Kasper wants to quit
I know he's still very young but I don't rate him to be honest. He did very well for us in the few games he played but he tended to ride his luck every single second of every game.
I think a lot of the fuss around him is based on the romantic vision that in a few years he'll basically be his dad at his prime, which is a nice thought but I'm not so sure it will happen.
Having said that it would be interesting to see a young Peter Schmeichel to compare.

he did ride his luck a fair bit when he played, he is very dodgy in crosses and unless he can sort this out he will not be good enough for us.
having said that he is still young for a keeper so hopefully he will improve a fair bit.

What happens when your luck runs out though?
I'm not slagging Kasper and I'd fucking love for him to become as good as his dad and play for us. Obviously unfair on the lad having a dad who was the best in the world at his peak.

PMSL he was still fucking amazing when he played for us but I was actually referring to when he played for some other side and was pretty tasty. I always used to tell my twat mates whilst they were wanking over Cuntona that Shmeichel was the real star at the scum
Best ever PS moment, aside from Liverpool away when he was just a freak of nature, was the 3-1 derby, his reaction to the first goal
Something kinda ooooh
Re: Kasper wants to quit
He better not go. Just as good as Hart, and has a great future ahead of him.
So, your car is kaput. And your girlfriend is gone. And thine house they have sold.

I love Peter Schmeichel! I was actually a bit of a fan of his before he came to us. We converted him anyway, loved seeing him at the Home derby last year wearing sky blue, even if he was only there to see Kasper!
DON'T GO KASPER!

Goalkeepers peak early to mid 30's.
If City kept them both they'd be laughing. Can't see it tho.
